Synopsis
Due to the sharp rise in real estate prices, drastic changes have occurred in Zigong, an inland city in Sichuan Province in Southwest China.
Luo Liang, almost thirty, is a chauffeur who runs errands for a real estate boss. He rides a broken motorcycle and lives in a shabby house. Although he is sneered at by a wife who came from a family of intellectuals, he is content with being somebody’s vassal. Still, he dreams of returning home with fame and money.

Ying Liang was 1977 in Shanghai, China, learned moives at art department of Beijing Normal University, graduated from the department of directinga at Chongqing University. In 2007, he got “new director — man of the year, Culture 2007 ”from <Oriental Morning Post>’s selecting activities, and “China (2007-2008) biennial film award ”from <The Day After Tomorrow> magazine’s selection.
Ying Liang has finished 15 short films, 3 full-length films, <I love Lakers> participated DUNK BE TRUE and Iberia Center for Contemporary Art film archive opening show. The full-length film <Good cats> won FIPRESCI Prize in Brisbane International Film Festival, the first full-length film <Take father home> won 5 awards in international film festivals, Special Jury Prize Kodak VISION Award at the TOKYO FILMeX Film Festival, SKYY Prize for First Feature at the San Francisco International Film Festival, Golden Digital Award at the Hong Kong International Film Festival, FIPRESCI Prize Award at the Singapore International Film Festival, Netpac Award at the Singapore International Film Festival. <Take father home> was screened and collected by NewYork MoMA (The Museum of Modern Art) and Singapore Asian Film Archive.
The full length film<The other half>, which was supported by the Hubert Bals Fund (HBF) from the International Film Festival Rotterdam and screened more than 30 international film festivals, also won the Special Jury Prize at the Tokyo Filmex Film Festival, Woosuk Award at the Jeonju International Film Festival, and other 2 international awards. In Mar. 2008, <The other half> was showed as opening film of ContemporAsian, MoMA. The 3 full-length films <Good cats>, <Take father home>, <The other half> were collected by Li Xianting’s film fund.
The long <Blown by the typhoon> was supported by International Film Festival Rotterdam ’s Hubert Bals Fund, and was selected for Cinefondation of Cannes Festival，Hong Kong-Asian Film Financing Forum(HAF) and Film&TV Co-production Meeting of Taipei Golden Horse FF.
